In 2013, EJOK will help a group of Turkana from Louwae and Locher Akwan to build a new classroom – a nursery, where children are introduced to Swahili (Kenya’s national language), and where mothers can meet each other and leave their pre-school children.

Without a tradition of schooling, it is amazing how many Turkana children attend the growing number of primary and nursery schools in the area. We were asked to help build a new school – just one classroom for the youngest of children, in a place where there is none.

  • When will it happen? August 2013
  • What do we need? Your help through a donation to buy bricks, cement, a tin roof, and if we can, books, pencils, notebooks…
  • How much? Any amount will help – all the money raised by EJOK until August is for this purpose
